2017 Chardonnay Estate
Sourced entirely from the Thatch Winery's Estate Chardonnay Vineyard, the wine displays all of the ripe, tropical fruit and chewy phenolic punch characteristic of our warm, westerly exposition and deep, clay soils. These attributes are further amplified by the relentless sunshine and minimal rainfall of the 2017 summer. Matured in a variety of barrels between one and seven years old for a full year, this chardonnay undergoes a full malolactic fermentation to draw out its natural depth and textural resonance and imbue it with a subtle, toasty edge. Already accessible now, this wine will continue to improve over the next 2-3 years.
